Dear Mr. Xiao Guang G. Zhu:
Thank you for your effective and insightful teaching from 2017-2019.
I want to let you know that I was accepted, by the great violinist Aaron Rosand, to be his student for Master Degree in Violin Performance at the Mannes School of Music, in NYC(with $35,000 annual scholarship loan and financial aid). I was also honored to have been accepted, by the internationally acclaimed violinist Mr. Koichiro Harada, to be his student for Master Degree in Violin Performance at the Manhattan School of Music, in NYC. Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple University, accepted me in their Master Degree in Violin Performance with an offer of "Teaching Assistantship". Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University also accepted me in their Master Degree in Violin Performance with significant amount of scholarship.
Since the untimely passing of Mr. Rosand, I am currently studying with Mr. Shmuel Ashkenasi, another great teacher and violin virtuoso, at the Mannes School of Music.
In addition to your great teaching, you also offered me moral and emotional support when I was in a very struggling situation.
Thank you again for being a caring teacher and selfless human being!
Thank you!

To Whom It may concern:
I was a student of Guang Zhu’s for 6 years. Mr. Zhu is a phenomenal violinist and pedagogue. I enjoyed our weekly lessons filled with detailed instruction on violin performance as well as humorous conversations. Under his instruction, I obtained second chair in Southwest Ohio Regional Orchestra, joined the Ohio All State Orchestra 3 years in a row, and attended Otterbein University for Bachelor of Arts in music, for which I received $8,000/year music scholarship. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in the Human Factors and Industrial/Organizational Psychology program at Wright State University. And even though I am not majoring in the violin performance currently, Mr. Zhu’s "Problem Solving Style Teaching" has helped me greatly in my academia and industrial careers in general.

Xiao-Guang Zhu is an excellent violin player and teacher. I have been taking lessons with him since 1996. I play violin in the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the Lima Symphony Orchestra, and I also teach in Springfield, Centerville and Vandalia. When I started lessons with him, I had been playing for several years, and had a significant problem with tension while playing, which was leading to pain in my neck and arms. Thanks to his guidance, I have become a much better and more relaxed player, and I am continuing to improve even to this day. He is very good at identifying the root cause of a player’s problems, and helping them to overcome these. I would highly recommend him as a teacher to anyone who truly wants to improve their playing.
